Welcome to one of the premier river rafting destinations in the west! The Gallatin offers you the chance to view incredible scenery and paddle through some fun, challenging, and continuous whitewater. We offer different stretches of river for a variety of skill levels. Most of our trips begin in Beautiful Big Sky Montana. Depending on your expectations, correctly timing your trip can be the most important factor. Do you want to raft the infamous, class IV Mad Mile? The water is highest early in the season, then tapers off as the summer progresses. Looking for a mellower ride? Check out the upper Gallatin any time or the Lower Gallatin later in the summer.
Our trips start in Big Sky and our office is conveniently located a short drive from the end of your raft trip, getting you back to your dry clothes, photos, and snacks in a matter of minutes – usually 10 or less!
Our Gallatin River office is located on Highway 191 between Bozeman and Big Sky, north of West Yellowstone. This is where you will meet for our Gallatin or Madison River Trips.

Gallatin River Half Day Classic – More Challenging

Looking for some whitewater while avoiding white-knuckle rapids? The 3 hour Upper Half Day on the Gallatin River is perfect for families and first-timers – especially in June when the water is high. This trip will be packed with splashes and smiles!

Begin the day by floating the narrow, winding upper Gallatin as it flows through mountain meadows and pine forests. Stop for a delicious river-side lunch. The Gallatin will build in excitement as you travel down, leading to an afternoon of thrilling rapids and continuous amazing scenery. The trip is about 5-6 hours, but varies depending on water levels.

Madison River Full Day Raft – Bear Trap Canyon

Remote and scenic, this river flows out of Ennis Lake and through a steep and rocky canyon. This trip has amazing scenery, some great rapids, peaceful floating, knowledgeable and experienced guides and a delicious lunch.
