Hello and thanks for your interest in employment at Montana Whitewater! We start our hiring process in early February and continue to talk with prospective employees until all positions are filled for summer.

Positions are available in all locations.

We will begin hiring for the 2018 season soon!

Available Positions:

The Gallatin Location is on Highway 191 in between the towns of Bozeman and Big Sky (about a 30 minute drive from each). We do not provide employee housing at this location and staff are responsible for their own transportation to and from work.

PositionDescription
Office StaffDaily Responsibilities: answering phones, making reservations, collecting trip payments, performing end of day reconciliations, selling retail items and keeping the facilities clean.
Training & Position Duration: on-the-job individual training, mid-May through August.
Preferred Skills: exemplary customer service, organized, self motivated and proficient with computers.
Raft GuideDaily Responsibilities: gearing up guests, keeping trips timely and organized, offering low risk, fun and memorable river trips, maintaining/cleaning gear, being a helpful member of the guide team.
Required Certifications (proof of current or enrollment with us): First Aid, Adult & Child CPR, Swiftwater Rescue.
Trainings and Duration: certification courses are May 19-21, raft guide training is May 22-26 and individual on-river training follows for up to 6 weeks. River guide positions typically finish up between August 20th and Sept 30th.
Preferred Skills: exemplary customer service, upbeat attitude, understanding of risk mitigation, a strong work ethic and comfortable in the water.
Zip Line GuideDaily Responsibilities: gearing up guests, keeping trips timely and organized, offering low risk, fun and memorable zip line tours, maintaining and organizing gear, being a helpful member of the guide team.
Required Certifications (proof of current or enrollment with us): First Aid and Adult & Child CPR.
Trainings and Duration: certification courses are May 21st, zip guide training is May 22-29 and individual on-tour training follows for a couple days. Zip guide positions typically finish up between August 20th and October 15th.
Preferred Skills: exemplary customer service, upbeat attitude, understanding of risk mitigation, coaching abilities, a strong work ethic and comfortable with heights.
Shuttle Drivers
(Drug Test Required)
Daily Responsibilities: shuttling customers in vans and buses, preparing vehicles, trailers and equipment for trips, assisting with trip logistics, maintaining customer rafting gear and customer support.
Requirements: CDL w/ passenger endorsement.
Training & Position Duration: on-the-job individual training, late-May through mid-September.
Preferred Skills: exemplary customer service, organized, self motivated and energetic.
PhotographerMust have reliable transportation.
Daily Responsibilities:
taking and selling photos of trips, rafting or zipline, organizing photo files and keeping the facilities clean.
Training & Position Duration: on-the-job individual training, June through August.
Preferred Skills: exemplary customer service, organized, self motivated and proficient with Apple computers and Cannon cameras.
Food Truck CookDaily Responsibilities: Cook to-order lunch for hungry rafting and zip line customers, food inventory and ordering, daily cleaning and maintenance, being friendly and accommodating to customers.
Training & Position Duration: on-the-job individual training. Food truck is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Mostly day time lunch shifts, a few custom group dinners.
Preferred Skills: commercial cooking experience, exemplary customer service, organized, self motivated and ability to multitask.
Fly Fishing GuideTeach customers of all ages to fly fish, from no fishing experience to years of fly fishing knowledge.

The Bozeman Location is our tubing and rental shop. It is located on Main St. in Bozeman. We do not provide employee housing at this location and staff are responsible for their own transportation to and from work; if you live in Bozeman, you can bike to work!

Training & Position Duration: on-the-job individual training, early-June through August.

Shuttle Drivers
(Drug Test Required)
Daily Responsibilities: shuttling customers in vans and buses, preparing vehicles, trailers and equipment for trips, inspecting and cleaning customer rentals, entertaining and informing guests of trip details and offering customer support (you are the guide!).
Requirements: CDL w/ passenger endorsement.
Training & Position Duration: on-the-job individual training, early June through mid-September. We will help you get a CDL if you are interested, but do not have one.
Preferred Skills: exemplary customer service, organized, self motivated and energetic.

The Gardiner Location is located right in the middle of the small town of Gardiner, at the North Entrance to Yellowstone Park, just under a 1.5 hour drive from Bozeman. We do provide summer employee housing for a minimal fee, but pets are not allowed.

Please be aware that our season is fairly short and we want our staff to be available throughout. We will work around requested time off on a limited basis or sometimes other prior commitments like summer school.
