The classic half-day trip runs through the heart of the whitest water in the Yellowstone Area!
You'll begin with some small rapids which progress in size until we drop into the lower canyon where we'll run BIG rapids including House Rock and the continuous Mad Mile.
The total time required for the trip is about 3 hours. We shuttle you to and from the river.
Our office is located just minutes from the end of the trip - so you can get right back to change into dry clothes and get comfortable.

Offered for folks who are looking for a fun time without the challenge of the Mad Mile - especially in June when the water is high.
Enjoy fun rapids such as Hilarity Hole, Screaming Left, and High-Speed Alley. These rapids offer fun splashes and relatively easy navigation without the challenge of long rapids like the Mad Mile.
Great for families and first timers, this trip is packed with excitement!

The Gallatin River Canyon is the perfect setting for kicking back and relaxing out in nature. Your guide will share stories and area information with the group as you make your way down river. Keep your eyes open for wildlife sightings along the way. A keen observer might spot bald eagles, marmots, or even a moose! The scenery, featured in the movie A River Runs Through It, is one of the hightlights of Montana.

Spend the morning observing wildlife while floating by mountain meadows and spectacular rock outcroppings. You'll run Snake Bite, Mother Eater and Portal Creek rapids.
We'll take a break to indulge in a delicious all you can eat lunch by the river. (Deli meats and cheeses to make your own hoagies + chips, cookies, soda). You are welcome to stash your own goodies in the cooler as well.
Enjoy an exhilarating afternoon rafting the lower canyon. (See half-day). Your group can choose to include the Mad MIle or not. Without the Mad Mile, the trip is class I-III.
Your guide carries a dry-bag for you to store whatever you might need for the day.

Inflatable or Sit-On-Top KAYAK TRIPS - Gallatin River

Feeling adventurous? Get out on the water and paddle a one person inflatable kayak. Learn the basic skills from a guide and then try it out for yourself. More excitement than rafting, without requiring very much skill. If you are interested in eventually doing some whitewater kayaking, the duckie is a great way to try out solo boating! You get huge hits! The duckies are very stable which helps to keep you from flipping over when you hit those big holes and waves. A guide will introduce you to the techniques and then assist you as you navigate class II and III rapids.
Participants must have good swimming skills. Minimum recommended age is 13.
